Janice’s PH Story

June 02,2017

This is my 2nd year working alongside Team Phenomenal Hope with the #LetMeBeYourLungs campaign, and I have to say, I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of the campaign.

This year I had the opportunity to be teamed up with a wonderful person named Yvonne Taylor.

I met her for the first time in a brief email meeting, and then in person while helping put the PH5K together for the big day, and I guess you can say we hit it off from the start by encouraging one another in this phight.

She is a true Athlete through and through and I am proud to say she was my lungs

In my eyes, Yvonne has the strength of a champion. She has been dealing with her own demon of getting back in shape and started training for the Pittsburgh Half Marathon by running at a park near her home, and would do major shout outs to me after she was done, to not only show her progress of readiness, but to support me and others like me dealing with Pulmonary Hypertension.

Thursday’s Run

She knows the hardships that we deal with, and I feel that racing for TeamPH gives her a better understanding of how our hearts run a marathon runner’s pace, just by doing small activities throughout the day.

My support to her went with doing a lot of screaming during the race, but also keeping in close contact with her up until the day of the race. One way I did that was helping with her Popcorn Fundraiser, and making signs for her to show I was with her every step of the way. Especially on Race day, I kept a log of her times and followed the entire race until she passed the finish line.

She is a true Athlete through and through and I am proud to say she was my lungs, and now one of my dearest friends. She rocked it, for all of us! THANKS YVONNE ☺ and TeamPH for all that you are doing for our Cause in finding a cure.
